THE RVC FIRE DEPARTMENT
The RVC FD is an all VOLUNTEER organization that responds to all medical emergencies and fire calls in RVC. The Fire Dept. is always looking for village residents to become members and help out their fellow neighbors when the need arises. The RVCFD is divided up among 5 firehouses in town. These buildings house all 5 Engine companies, 2 Ladder trucks, 2 Ambulances, 1 Rescue truck, the Fire Police unit and water rescue equipment. Aside from training for fires and emergencies, members can also participate in various other activites such as softball, volleyball, bowling etc. Active members also receive an additional STAR savings on their village, town, county and school taxes. In addition there is a pension program and college tuition savings on participating colleges in Nassau County.
